National Association for the Blind, Madhya Pradesh State Branch, Indore is active in the field of education, training and rehabilitation of the Blinds since 1979. The head office of the organisation is located in Mumbai. The organisation has 22 state branches and 133 district branches.

Since its establishment, NAB Indore has organised multifaceted events for the education, training and rehabilitation of the Blinds. The organisation provides free food and residence to about 54 students (Indore Unit 25, Dakachya Unit 15, Bhabra Unit: 14).

The organisation has modern computer-aided training center to provide computer training to its students. For the completely blind students, the organisation provides training and tools for Braille script. For the students who are semi blind or visually impaired the organisation publishes large print books. The organisation has a Braille Equipments Bank through which the support of helping-aids and audio-books is provided. The organisation also provides training of various cottage industries and handloom industries.

The organisation conducts frequent camps in the rural area to spread awareness about the Blinds. The camps provides information about eye testing and eye diseases. The organisation also provides counselling services to the Blinds and their parents.

  1. Indore Unit: Residential Facilities available for higher studies to the needy blind free of cost. Along with lodging and boarding.
  2. Dakachya unit: Residential Facilities available for primary and higher secondary level to the needy rural blind free of cost. Along with lodging and boarding.
  3. Bhabra Unit: Residential Facilities available for primary and higher secondary level to the needy rural blind free of cost. Along with lodging and boarding.
